Peyd Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 2025
1. Scope of This Policy
This Refund & Cancellation Policy (“Policy”) applies to payments processed via Peyd for goods and services sold by merchants using our platform. Digital Data OÜ primarily provides payment technology and processing; we are not the seller of the goods or services purchased by end customers.
Refunds, cancellations, or returns relating to a specific purchase are generally managed by the merchant that accepted the payment.
2. Merchant Responsibilities
Each merchant using Peyd is responsible for:
- Defining and communicating their own refund and return policy;
- Honoring any legally required consumer rights and cooling-off periods;
- Processing refunds in compliance with card network rules and local law;
- Providing customers with clear contact details for support.
Digital Data OÜ may, in some cases, assist with technical aspects of refund processing but is not responsible for the merchant’s decision to approve or deny a refund.
3. Customer Refund Requests
If you are a customer who has paid using Peyd, please first contact the merchant directly using the receipt or contact information provided at the time of purchase.
If you are unable to resolve the issue with the merchant or suspect unauthorized or fraudulent activity, you may:
- Contact your card issuer or bank to initiate a chargeback, where applicable;
- Contact us at support@peyd.app with transaction details. We may review the case and provide limited support or guidance.
4. Refund Processing Time
Once a refund is initiated by the merchant or processed via card schemes, the time it takes for the funds to appear in the customer’s account depends on:
- The customer’s bank or card issuer;
- Card network processing times;
- Currency and country of the transaction.
As a general guideline, refunds may take between 3–14 business days to be reflected on the customer’s statement, though this can vary by institution and jurisdiction.
5. Non-Refundable Items & Services
Certain transactions may be non-refundable depending on the type of goods or services, or applicable laws. Examples can include:
- Digital content after it has been accessed or downloaded;
- Personalized or custom-made goods;
- Services already fully performed;
- Transactions explicitly marked as “final sale” where permitted by law.
The merchant is responsible for clearly informing customers about any non-refundable items or conditions, subject to consumer protection laws of Estonia or the relevant country of sale.
6. Disputes, Chargebacks & Fraud
Customers may have the right to dispute transactions and request a chargeback through their bank or card issuer. When a chargeback is initiated:
- The transaction amount may be debited from the merchant's balance;
- The merchant may be required to provide evidence (e.g. receipts, proof of delivery, service confirmation);
- Additional fees may apply, depending on card schemes and payment partners.
Digital Data OÜ reserves the right to hold funds, restrict processing, or terminate accounts in case of excessive chargebacks or suspected fraud, in accordance with our Terms of Service and legal obligations.
7. Subscription & Recurring Payments (If Applicable)
If Peyd or merchants using Peyd offer subscription or recurring billing:
- Customers will be informed of the billing cycle and amount;
- Cancellation terms and notice periods will be clearly communicated;
- Refunds for partially used subscription periods may be subject to merchant policy and local law.
Merchants must ensure compliance with applicable subscription regulations and consumer protection laws in their operating jurisdiction.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App or via email.
Continued use of Peyd after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
